Canada Says, "Fat Chance"
"Listen to the cry of the Earth."
That's the message from three top Christian clerics, Pope Francis, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of the Orthodox Church, and the head of the world Anglican Communion, the Archbishop of Canterbury.
“Today, we are paying the price [of the climate emergency] … Tomorrow could be worse.” It concludes: “This is a critical moment. Our children’s future and the future of our common home depend on it.”“We stand before a harsh justice: biodiversity loss, environmental degradation and climate change are the inevitable consequences of our actions, since we have greedily consumed more of the Earth’s resources than the planet can endure.
“But we also face a profound injustice: the people bearing the most catastrophic consequences of these abuses are the poorest on the planet and have been the least responsible for causing them.”
Don't sugar coat it fellas. Just tell the world leaders, especially Canada's petro-pimps, they'll be cast straight into the eternal fires of Hell if they don't smarten up and fly right.
If Eternal Damnation isn't your thing, perhaps 200 of the top health journals will cajole you onto the path of climate righteousness.
“Health is already being harmed by global temperature increases and the destruction of the natural world, a state of affairs health professionals have been bringing attention to for decades.
“The science is unequivocal; a global increase of 1.5C above the pre-industrial average and the continued loss of biodiversity risk catastrophic harm to health that will be impossible to reverse.
“Despite the world’s necessary preoccupation with Covid-19, we cannot wait for the pandemic to pass to rapidly reduce emissions.
These pleas, religious and secular, seem destined to fall on deaf ears in Canada where our party leaders are devout greenwashers. And, yes, that goes for Jagmeet too.

I would take their preaching seriously, if they backed it up by selling their gold, silver, and jewals, to support climate action.
