"In This Pivotal Moment" Justin Makes His Play for Power

Well, that's it. Parliament is dissolved. We're off to the polls on September 20th.

Justin Trudeau, trying to pretend this election is about the country, not the Liberal Party and his personal political fortunes, said:

"In this pivotal, consequential moment, who wouldn't want a say? Who wouldn't want their chance to decide where our country goes from here?" Trudeau asked.

"As much as we've done over the past many, many months, we've got a lot of work ahead of us. … You deserve a say, because this is your moment."

It'll be a real "slam, bam, thank you ma'am" campaign, just the minimum 36 days. I suppose Slick doesn't want us dwelling too long on his record or his platform.

The only part I'm looking forward to is watching O'Toole squirm as he tries to placate the moderate and the extremist contingents in the Tory ranks. I expect Trudeau will give O'Toole a good thrashing.

    1. Yep. Such is the state of democracy in Canada. "Consent of the Governed" is now both optional and a rarity. In fact it hasn't been seen in years, decades.
