Dude, What Did You Expect?

Bombardier Chelsea Cogswell is scheduled to stand court martial next month for sharing pot cupcakes with her comrades in 2018. Apparently she distributed her goodies whilst her friends were engaged in a live fire exercise.

MPs, as would be expected, rounded up cupcake wrappers and other evidence.  Now all but one wrapper have gone missing, AWOL as it were.  Bombardier Cogswell's lawyer wants the charges tossed out.

Military law expert Michel Drapeau has been arguing for years that the military police do not have the depth, supervision and training to conduct criminal investigations.

"Seventeen months required to discover it is disturbing, to say the least," he said. "There is something lacking there. It could be a lack of expertise. It could also be incompetence, obviously."

Prosecutors responded claiming the evidence wasn't lost because they never had it. Nice one.

  1. It could be argued that anyone training to kill another human being had better be pissed or high ....just saying!

  2. Perhaps the authorities ate the evidence? ;-)
