Are We Setting Ourselves Up For Another Covid Fail?
Canada, the United States, Great Britain, we're all chomping at the bit to loosen the bonds of this cursed pandemic, to get out and party.
Who among us isn't craving a return to that pre-pandemic life of ease and comfort? Yet we've seen how underestimating this virus and its variants can backfire and send us into yet another lockdown.
Peruse the papers and you'll find stories about this double-variant and predictions that, after a summer reprieve, we'll be headed right back to another lockdown after Labour Day.
Who and what to believe? What's your take?
I don't know. We have no idea what will happen because we have not been here before. So is it Liberty Hall or a Malthusian culling of the herd ? We dolive in interesting times.

It strikes me that we come to each new wave a bit diminished. Businesses shutter, individuals fall between the cracks. Each lockdown takes a new toll, a cumulative tally. At some point might we have to shout "uncle"?
