The Unidentified Shall Remain Unidentified
In three weeks the US intelligence committee will deliver to Congress its report on what they really know about UFOs or what they call "unidentified aerial phenomenon." Those in the know say the report won't shed much light on this controversy. The unidentified shall remain unidentified.
The report determines that a vast majority of more than 120 incidents over the past two decades did not originate from any American military or other advanced U.S. government technology, the officials said. That determination would appear to eliminate the possibility that Navy pilots who reported seeing unexplained aircraft might have encountered programs the government meant to keep secret. But that is about the only conclusive finding in the classified intelligence report, the officials said. And while a forthcoming unclassified version, expected to be released to Congress by June 25, will present few other firm conclusions, senior officials briefed on the intelligence conceded that the very ambiguity of the findings meant the government could not definitively rule out theories that the phenomena observed by military pilots might be alien spacecraft.
I guess it boils down to "damned if we know."
Navy pilots were often unsettled by the sightings. In one encounter, strange objects — one of them like a spinning top moving against the wind — appeared almost daily from the summer of 2014 to March 2015, high in the skies over the East Coast. Navy pilots reported to their superiors that the objects had no visible engine or infrared exhaust plumes, but that they could reach 30,000 feet and hypersonic speeds.
Lt. Ryan Graves, an F/A-18 Super Hornet pilot who was with the Navy for 10 years, told The New York Times in an interview, “These things would be out there all day.” With the speeds he and other pilots observed, he said, “12 hours in the air is 11 hours longer than we’d expect.”

Remember this incident?

Just saying!

I vaguely remember it, TB, but I don't get the context. Did he turn up something?
DeleteA few years back I read a book by journalist Leslie Kean called UFO's: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go on the Record. The detailed reports in the book would go a long way toward dissolving the skepticism some people have about the topic, and those reports make it pretty clear that whatever these things are, they cannot be made by the technology of our world.
ReplyDeleteIf I was to scout out distant planets I think I would do it remotely. Why send little green men to do a robot's job?
DeleteThe incidents show unknown aerial vehicles; not little green or gray men or women!
ReplyDeleteI doubt a supposed Martian would look at the Mars Rover and say ; hey look at this big white man!

The F-18 pilots believed they were observing an intelligence piloting those UFO/UAPs in response to the fighters' own maneuvering. They also saw maneuvers and acceleration that no human body could survive. If there were life forms aboard those craft, whatever they were, they would have to be vastly different to humans. My guess would be artificial intelligence and robotics.
