I watched the video earlier today, Mound. The only part I didn't like was his assertion that democracy would emerge stronger after this, like the tempered steel of the sword he brandished. I'm not sure there is much basis for that optimism.
I agree, Lorne. Then again what was the alternative? He could hardly say "we're so screwed."
I was talking to my buddy in Michigan today. I always figured when the sky fell in he would be the one who would rise up from the ashes, shake the dust off and go back to business. I knew a few Vietnam vets but Bob was the one least affected by it. That's why I was surprised to hear the sadness in his voice today. It was as though someone took the starch right out of him. For once he's confused, uncertain and very worried.
