Lindsey Graham Attacks Senate Sergeant-at-Arms for Failure to Protect the Capitol from His President's "Terrorists."

South Carolina senior senator, Lindsey Graham, held a press conference today.

Graham began by saying he agrees with Democrat Chuck Schumer that the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms needs to resign or be fired.  Graham said that it is incredible that, 20 years after 9/11, the Capitol building was undefended against attack by what Graham emphasized were "terrorists." Graham was a prosecutor in the USAF before entering politics so he uses his terms wisely.

The implications of what he said are stunning. They were terrorists summoned to Washington by president Trump. These terrorists were emboldened, empowered and essentially deputized by the president of the United States. They were terrorists unleashed upon Congress by Donald Trump. They were told that Congress was about to confirm the election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. The president told his terrorists, "We're not going to let that happen," before he unleashed his winged monkeys to assault the Capitol building.

This was an act of terrorism conducted by and at the behest of Graham's president. Trump sat mute for hours as his terrorists invaded the Capitol building, making no effort to call off his dogs and sending senators and representatives alike fleeing for safety. Trump knew full well what his followers, his agents were doing. It probably filled his sadistic heart with joy.

Lindsey Graham's statements stand as an indictment of Donald Trump for terrorism, for sedition and for violating his oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. He may be gone in two weeks but Trump must be made to stand trial for his crimes.

    We have to remember that the election results were almost 50/50.
    Taking that in to account then 50% of the police and national guard tasked with subduing Trumps supporters were actually sympathetic.
    The same goes for the judiciary that will handle the few cases of insurrection or what ever the charges brought forward to the measly 60 or so that have been identified as wrongdoers.
    We have already seen the photo of a policeman having a selfie photo with a rioter.
    When Rittenhouse was filmed with the police in Oregon he was treated as one of 'them'.

    They are friggen rotten south of the 49th.
    Rot cannot be rectified , it has to be removed.
    Keep the border closed .

      I recall survey results showing that the great majority of law enforcement officers and their respective police departments and agencies solidly support Trump. Our national police service have a clear record of bias favouring of our Conservatives. Zaccardelli meddled in an election to smear Ralph Goodale, helping Harper to win. Harper's attempt to set up Mike Duffy was aided by Bob Paulson and the novel "immaculate bribe" charge that involved only Duffy and completely omitted Nigel Wright's role in the affair. And what have we done to purge that force of its political bias? Nothing.

      As to your point in the post:

      Why focus on anything from this guy as he runs to get in front of the parade?
      Just another unprincipled, opportunistic rat jumping off a sinking ship trying to find scapegoats to deflect and obscure blame.

      I find it hard to feel much emotion at this turn of events. Besides disgust and schadenfreude and world weariness.

      I will feel some actual relief if (for ex.) Biden rejoins JCPOA/Iran w/o conditions and ignores KIm Jong-iL

      NPoV, lil' Lindsey is definitely beating feet to put some distance between him and his golfing partner. Why would anyone remain loyal to Trump? The Mango Mussolini has no loyalty to anyone else. Just yesterday Trump threw his entire mob under the bus. He called them to Washington with his tweets. He filled their little minds with fairy tales about the Deep State, an election stolen, the looming socialist government. He egged them on and then sent them marching to Capitol hill. A day later, when someone sensible must have told him he was in deep Kimchi, Trump rolls over on the mob. Apparently some of these hardcore losers aren't real happy with DJT today.

    If there wasn't a person called Lindsey Graham they would have to invent one, a parody of a Politician; a repulsive human being, someone without principles or morals. This man gives the human race and modern politicians a very bad name (and that is hard to do considering the state of modern politicians) and stinks whatever joint he happens to be in.

      He's a fine southern gentleman, Ben. A couple of months back Lindsey said a young woman was safe to travel anywhere in South Carolina - just so long as she was a Republican. A few weeks later he used the same line for blacks. It was said when John McCain died, someone threw Lindsey's integrity into the coffin.

Every time there's a conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians, all we hear is 'why?'  Why, as in, whose fault is this? It's easier to affix blame if you can truncate the event.
