Now, More Than Ever

With the world oil price said to be heading to $200 per barrel and beyond, with grocery prices skyrocketing, and with Earth on the cusp of runaway climate catastrophe, could there be a better time for our prime minister to get serious about weaning Canada off fossil fuels?

One week ago today the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, IPCC, reported that climate breakdown is going terminal, past the point of no return.  If we don't sober up there is no viable future for our grandkids.

As oil prices soar, the differential between clean energy and fossil fuels widens. It's past time to electrify our economy and our society.  All we need is a leader who puts the country and our youngest Canadians ahead of his party. Now, more than ever.

  1. Alas Cassandra, not many are listening. The sun and wind cannot be effectively commoditized.

The flow of Fossil Fuels from Russia to the west continues. Nordstream 2 is ready to go but is paused atm. Don't believe it is dead. The Guardian headlines say both Bojo and German-new-guy are pushing back on any move that would threaten their Russian supply. But useful idiots here and elsewhere call for "our" fossil fuels to replace the Russian supply. (In the meantime the EU can freeze in the dark?)

Along with stimulating the war-industries, stealing ff customers from Russia looks like part of a plan that will culminate in regime change in Russia if they win, or in nuclear war. Roll the dice indeed.

Note the ICC action today and remember the the USA will not ever acknowledge that this court applies to themselves.

Here's a fact you won't hear on Fox News today. Exxon, Chevron, and Conoco made $46 billion in profit in 2021. Now they're using 40% of those profits for stock buybacks. Big Oil is raking it in, raising prices, and taking advantage of the war in Ukraine to push for more drilling.

The only desired result when fascists fight fascists
(corporate infused states vrs corporate infused states)
(please don't confuse the Ukrainian people as protagonists
or the Ukraine as anything more than the playing field)
    It's all about the sanctions
and the market manipulation that those allow
It is one more case of rich people making rich people richer
by destroying and impoverishing the whole world further
Climate change will play its role
But it is slow and proving to be unpredictable
