Republican Congressman - "The Ship is Sinking."

On Face the Nation this morning, Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Il, wasn't pulling any punches:

“Right now, it’s basically the Titanic. We’re like, you know, in this in the middle of this slow sink, we have a band playing on the deck telling everybody it’s fine. And meanwhile, as I’ve said, you know, Donald Trump’s running around trying to find women’s clothing and get on the first lifeboat.”

  1. Trump’s running around trying to find women’s clothing and get on the first lifeboat.”

A lot of Republicans are doing drag these days.
They lost their chance of being something more than the rich bastards club when they jumped on board with Trump lock stock and barrel.
Kinzinger and his team mates dropped the ball when Trump threw his hat in the ring and they said little.
Would Kinzinger have had this epiphany had Trump won the election?
I am not sad to see the end of the America empire but I concerned about it's replacement.
The biggest loss , as I see it, the world has seen in recent years is the failure of the EU as a moderating world power.

    1. I'm worried and deeply fatigued that the rest of us have to go through this made-in-America lunacy, TB. As the US stumbles, everyone from China to the Taliban are feeling their oats and, no matter how we feel about that, it bodes ill for all of us.

  2. I am still cynical and depressed the Dems are still fucked. Joe Manchin, the repug in Dem's clothes and redistricting will allow the Trumpies back in control of both houses in the midterms. What that will bring is too terrible to contemplate!

  3. I share your dismay, Ben. Barring some sort of miracle, the US does seem perched on the cusp of further chaos.
