Keystone XL is Dead, Again.

 

That didn't take long. President Joe Biden has revoked the presidential permit for the Keystone XL pipeline expansion.  Word was out he'd kill KXL on Day One. He did just that. 

Justin Trudeau added a touch of hilarity to the situation:

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he discussed the pipeline issue with then-president-elect Biden in a conversation “a number of weeks ago.”

“We have highlighted, including in a direct conversation I had with president-elect Biden a number of weeks ago, that Canada has… become a global leader on the fight against climate change… and that Keystone XL continues to be an important project for us,” he said.

Good one, Justin. I bet the "global leader" line got a few giggles.

The Cognoscenti Syndrome

  There is a group of people I think of as the Cognoscenti, people who are well educated, very informed and of rapidly diminishing relevance. Their ranks include writers such as Chris Hedges and Glen Greenwald. These are people who have honed an almost Puritanical value system, readily finding fault in any direction.
