Who'd a Thunk It?

I saw this old print and it reminded me so much of Erin O'Toole.  It depicts a medical procedure in England in centuries past. "By the late 1700s, blowing smoke had become a regularly applied medical procedure, mostly  used to revive people thought to be nearly deceased, usually drowning victims."

Of course, medical science has moved on but the technique is still practiced to this very day. Now it's called "conservatism," the art of blowing smoke up its adherents' arses.

  1. Hard to believe O'toole is actually dumber than Scheer, but there you go. (Lucky for Trudeau/Singh.)

Apparently there was only one brain in the CON party and Harper took it with him to the IDU.

    1. I'm wary of underestimating O'Toole, NPoV, but I haven't seen any great leadership skills from him yet. What concerns me is his attachment to the old Tory ploy of playing nice guy to the east while depicting the east as devils to the west.

  2. They also advocate applying leeches, Mound, to bleed treasuries dry through tax cuts.

    1. I guess that's fiscal prudence for the working class, Owen. I struggle to see the Tories' vision. What is their plan? What are their priorities. Think about it, Owen. Have they ever done well with weak leaders?
